We Are Fine

Friday, December 18, 2009

Thank you for the emails and comments of support and love. We are doing well. Maya seems to be absolutely fine and is back to normal. I've had a few spells of tears as thoughts of "what if" continue to bounce back and forth, but I just try to accept them and move on. Being in the living room and feeding Maya are the worst; I've had to force myself to sit in the living room and realize that Maya is fine. Feeding her, I have been (probably) over rigid in watching her, but I just have to be right now.

But we are fine. She is fine. Bobby is fine. I just keep telling myself this when I feel a freak-out coming on. We are fine.

We are fine.

I've just been catching up - how terrifying for you. I'm not surprised you're still having a hard time with those triggers!

So relieved that everything is ok. Save for your sense of calm, of course.

And yes. You are all fine, but it's to be expected that it's going to be a while before you're able to believe that again.

Thinking of you and thinking thoughts of thanksgiving.

They look so incredibly sweet sleeping together like that.

Glad you are finding your way to "calm", I think worrying is part of being a mother...I haven't experienced anything like what you have been through, but there always seems like something new to worry about.

Your babies are so adorable. ;)

I think that, after everything, you are allowed to freak out from time to time, melt down, fall into a puddle of tears, whatever you need.

They are marvellous.

So glad she's home and back to herself. They are just adorable--I love the sleeping pictures! Now I'll hope you and Peter can have some peace and a chance to return to normal instead of hypervigilant.

All of your children are so beautiful! I read your story on the other blog, the birth of all your children. I loved reading about the births, and how your faith played such a big role! Thank you for sharing.

Been MIA pretty much this whole week and just catching up. I'm so glad that Maya is ok!

I am getting caught up and 1st off I am happy that Maya is feeling better.

2nd I could not believe the comment from Anon. How ridiculous! I have never gotten that from anything you have written. It is amazing what people will say when they are unknown (sometimes it is amazing when they are known).

((HUGS)) to you and those BEAUTIFUL babies. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas. I know you will!

Good! I'm happy to read you are fine (even if you have to convince yourself). :)

Peace, my friend.

First, what an incredible relief it is to learn that Maya is doing okay. And she IS okay, indeed!

Second, I'd like to cut to the front of the line of folks who have probably offered to b*tch-slap that "Anonymous" coward who wrote such awful, hurtful, insensitive things about your musings on your daughters. And in case "Anonymous" reads MY comment, lemme forewarn her that I am VERY good at tracking the traffic on my web site, and that includes Anonymous visitors, right down to the IP address and computer location they are both routed from and originating from - so, "Anonymous", don't even try to do something similar on my blog, my dear.

Third, I keep meaning to comment to you about the comment made to you about when are you going to lose the baby weight. Um, your twins may be a couple of months old, but you were (1) recovering from a rather traumatic birth experience, and (2) spending every moment either at the NICU et al, in transit to see the babies, or pumping for them, or (gasp) sleeping a few minutes here and there. So be kind to yourself about this, sweetie, and demand others do, too.

Fourth, I am/was a Wei.ght Wa.tchers success story (lost 70, kept off 67 for 6 years until Urban Myth pregnancy). They have an online component, so I just wanted to offer it as an alternative to complement your exercise efforts (BRAVO, by the way!) since I know your free time is in short demand lately, and you might not be able to make the in-person meetings. If you need cheering or support, I am here for ya, Honey!!!
