First 10K

Today, I headed to the gym for my "long" run and ran the longest I've ever done- just slightly more than a 10K!!

Distance- 6.27 miles (a 10K is 6.21 miles)
Time: 70 minutes
Calories Burned: 925

I realize I'm not setting any records and that I did a combo of walk/jog/running at varying paces of 4.5mph to 8mph, but this is a HUGE deal for me and is my own personal distance record!!  I'm pretty darn proud right now (and maybe, just maybe, my butt is a bit sore...)

So proud!!! You have to start somewhere and I've done 6 half marathons and time is never my goal, finishing is, so keep up the good work!!! :) If you're interested in training specifically for distance, my favorite book (I literally used to take it with me everywhere and will again post pregnancy) is Marathoning for Mortals--such good info and so encouraging! There is also Running for Mortals and it's good too! But you're too advanced for that now :)
